This is a small village situated in the community area of Clydau, Pembrokeshire, about 5 miles Northeast of Crymych. It is a very rural agricultural area, the nearest towns are Cardigan about 10 miles away and Newcastle Emlyn about 8 miles. The Post Office closed in 2008 but the agricultural and general stores are still serving the community. There is a Methodist chapel in the village with Clydau Church and Star Baptist Chapel nearby, the local school is Clydau School situated in Tegryn. The Frenni Fawr, the Frenni Fach and Ffynnone Woodlands are within easy reach for walkers and a network of paths and walks can be accessed from the village.
When the primary school was closed in 2000, the Bwlchygroes Hall Committee was formed in order to buy the site comprising former school building, the hall, the school yard and about 1.25 acre playing field. After years of fundraising the £55,000 was raised and the site was bought in 2007. The hall has become an important part of this very rural area, providing a meeting place for various groups and staging a variety of events to suit all tastes and thus lessening social isolation.
Charity Reg. No: 1091523
