Bwlchygroes Community Hall

Bwlchygroes Community Hall

This is a small village situated in the community area of Clydau Pembrokeshire, about 5 miles Northeast of Crymych. It’s a very rural agricultural area, the nearest towns are Cardigan about 10 miles away and Newcastle Emlyn about 8 miles away. The Post Office closed in 2008 but the agricultural and general stores are still serving the community. There is a Methodist chapel in the village with Clydau Church and Star Baptist Chapel nearby, the local school is Clydau School situated in Tegryn. The Frenni Fawr,  and Ffynnone Woodlands are within easy reach for walkers. A network of paths and walks can also be accessed from the village.

The Hall

When the primary school was closed in 2000, the Bwlchygroes Hall Committee was formed in order to buy the site comprising former school building, the hall, the school yard and about 1.25 acre playing field. After years of fundraising the £55,000 was raised and the site was bought in 2007. The hall has become an important part of this very rural area, providing a meeting place for various groups and staging a variety of events to suit all tastes.
