Situated between Tenby and Pembroke, Lamphey is about two miles from the coast and has some much appreciated facilities including a train station, good bus service, filling station, shop, hotels and The Dial Inn, our local pub and restaurant. There are also a number of independent traders specialising in alternative therapies etc.
The Parish Church, St Faiths, plays an active part in the community. Lamphey has strong links with the Bishops of St Davids, being their Summer home. The ruins of the Bishop’s Palace are now cared for and administered by Cadw and are well worth a visit. Agriculture, along with tourism, are the two main industries in the immediate area and the Summer agricultural shows are well worth visiting.
The Hall
The construction of the current Village Hall was completed in 2007. It replaced a building which had started life in the First World War as a medical centre in Pembroke. That building was transported to Lamphey at the end of the war and was erected on land donated by the Matthias Family. The original building had served the community very well for over eighty five years.
There are two rooms available for hire
the Main Hall, which can seat 120 and the Committee Room with seating for 20.
