Templeton Community Hall

Templeton Community Hall

Templeton lies in the heart of Pembrokeshire with a strong sense of community spirit. It is a small, friendly and close knit village with a wealth of historical interest and community activities. It is approximately 2 miles south of Narberth on the A478 and within five miles of the coast at Saundersfoot. It has a population of about 850.

The Hall

The Hall has undergone a major renovation and extension during 2019. It now has a suspended ceiling, efficient heating and lighting, which makes it far more attractive, as well there being no longer being a need to pay for the heating separately.
New windows and doors have been put in, including a double door onto the patio to the south, linking the room directly with the Village Green. The sprung floor remains, perfect for sporting or exercise classes. The toilet provision has been totally revamped, so there are now disabled toilet facilities at both the south and north ends of the building. The extension includes a new room almost as large as the original one for people to use, and also a separate utility room with a kettle and microwave available. Between the two rooms is a soundproof movable wall, so there can be two independent groups of up to approximately 80 using the Hall at once, both with their own basic refreshment facilities, or the wall can be moved back to the sides and the combined space can comfortably manage up to 180 people.
The kitchen has been totally rejuvenated with a new oven, units, work surfaces, and a smart easy clean floor which continues into the utility room and the corridors to the toilets. Outside there is not only the car park on the opposite side of the road for Hall users, but also one adjacent to the north of the Hall, just into Knights Court Estate. This car park provides access off the road to either main entrance of the Hall.
Vicky Mitchell Templeton village hall clerk sits down and discusses the village hall prior to lockdown, what lockdown meant to Templeton hall and what the future holds for the newly renovated Templeton village hall.
