Pennar and Bufferland in Pembroke Dock is one of the largest electoral wards in Pembrokeshire. It is home to the town’s Fire Station, Cricket and Golf Clubs. It has a Post Office, two pubs, a shop, Scout hall and a community school. Situated on a hill on top of the main town, it has many green spaces and there are fantastic views over the Haven and the Pembroke River. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path also winds its way through Pennar and you can walk alongside the river through fields and farms all the way to Pembroke Quay.
The Hall
Situated on Treowen Road, Pennar Hall is well used and supported by the community it serves. The hall is a Registered Charity and its 9 trustees are all residents who live in the area. Formerly St Patrick’s Church Hall, a 20-year lease was acquired in 2004 by the committee who manage the building on behalf of the community.
The hall has a full programme of weekly activities which run from it. The committee also organise community events a few times a year. The hall is also available to hire for parties and other events.
Groups which meet at the hall include; Inspired Theatre Youth Drama Group, Vibe School of Dance, Tai Chi, Pennar Art Club, Job Club and the Aftertones Pop Music Choir to name just a few.
